For the last 2 years, I have worn the Diamondback 701 Vest in the shop, on the jobsite and practically all over this country. While filming on the set of Renovation Hunters, every hour of the day was jam packed with non stop construction, Carpentry and more. This is where I began the process of fine tuning my 701 Vest, so that ultimately in partnership with Diamondback we could set up a system that was perfect for woodworking and Carpentry.
The start of this set up comes back to a cold winter evening when I was able to put on an old rig that i had been wearing and filmed some videos of my set up, talked through the how and whys of where I need my tools with Damani from Diamondback. This led to some back and forth about which pouches and accessories that would work for me.
One thing that is important to know is that I am Right -handed, and this will come into play for your rig, as some of the placement and bags assigned to the Woodworking Rig are going to be set up by your dominant hand.
At check out when you add this set up, you are able to add some additional accessories to the kit, which is discounted when bought as the kit. That said, Shopify will offer you some added pouches and accessories that I have carefully added depending on the job.
The idea behind this base kit is that the vest is carrying the weight all day, saving your back and hips. Their is room for adding backs, clips and other things depending on your job of the day. I have fashioned this set up for carpentry in close quarters as well as construction on decks and other structures. If you are looking to enhance your productivity, stop looking for tools all day, and save your body from long days on the job, then this is the set up for you.
